Upload invoices from your device, review what Wasli extracted, then export to Excel or CSV. Sending by WhatsApp or email, and a mobile app, are planned and not built yet.
Accounting document automation for the Gulf and Egypt
Wasli reads your invoices and receipts in Arabic and English, checks tax and totals, and prepares them for export to Excel or CSV. When it is unsure about a field, it is designed to flag it instead of guessing.

A workspace per client with members, roles and approval requests. Planned and not built yet: a dedicated email per client, a tax-deadline dashboard and email alerts.
Upload files from your device. Sending them by WhatsApp or email is planned and not built yet.
Fields are extracted from the document. Totals, tax and tax-number format are checked, and each field shows its confidence.
Anything doubtful stays in the review list until you approve it. What you approve exports to Excel or CSV. Direct accounting-software connections are planned.
Drag the handle to see the invoice as it reached you and as it appears in Wasli for you to review.

Synthetic sample document. The picture illustrates the screen and is not a real reading. The paper uses Eastern Arabic numerals (٣٠٠٫٠٠), shown in Wasli as the extracted value (300.00).
Not only invoices. These are the kinds of document it handles today.
Fields, line items, totals, VAT and the tax number.
Shop, restaurant and fuel receipts, even photographed on a phone.
Told apart from an ordinary invoice so it arrives with the right sign.
Transactions and balances, with an IBAN check and balance matching.
Staff claims with lines and receipts, with approval and reimbursement.
Trips in kilometres at a rate you set, with no built-in rates.
If the file is not financial, it is flagged instead of being entered by mistake.
Reading is done by an AI model and its accuracy has not been measured yet, so every document passes through your review.
Invoices written in Arabic, Eastern Arabic numerals, pen corrections, and currencies with three decimals.
The same fields from Arabic and English documents. It tries to read Eastern Arabic numerals, handwriting and struck-through text; accuracy on these has not been measured.
A field the model is unsure of is marked in color and text. The confidence is the model's own estimate, and we have not yet measured how reliable it is.
VAT-rate arithmetic, line items against the total, and a preliminary check of the tax-number format.
Saudi, Qatari and Omani riyal, dirham, Kuwaiti and Bahraini dinar, and Egyptian pound. Gregorian dates. If only a Hijri date is printed, it is flagged so you can type the Gregorian date.
A supplier's Arabic and English spellings link to one record, and accounts are suggested from rules you set or from your past decisions. A suggestion posts nothing.
Uploaded files and extracted data are stored with Convex, and you can archive a document or delete it permanently. Each document has a change history. Per-country retention periods are not defined yet.
These are added as validation rules. They do not replace a licensed accountant.
| Country | What is checked | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Saudi Arabia | Tax-number format and 15% arithmetic. The Saudi e-invoice QR code is compared with the fields read, for JPG and PNG images only; PDFs are not supported yet. | Preliminary check |
| UAE | Tax registration number (TRN) format and 5% arithmetic. We have not yet verified the national e-invoicing timeline. | Preliminary check |
| Bahrain | 10% VAT arithmetic. | Preliminary check |
| Oman | 5% VAT arithmetic. | Preliminary check |
| Egypt | Tax registration number and the e-invoice portal format. | Planned |
| Qatar and Kuwait | No general VAT at the time of writing. Tax fields stay optional. To be confirmed with an accountant. | Optional fields |
Rates and formats here are preliminary checks and need confirmation by an accountant in each country before you rely on them. This is not tax advice.
We need them while building Wasli, so we leave them for you. All of them run on your device and send nothing you type.
What works now is exporting an Excel (xlsx) or CSV file. Every accounting-software connection is planned and not built yet, and we commit to no date before confirming each platform's API.

Uploading from your device and the API work now. WhatsApp, a dedicated email per client and a mobile app are planned and not built yet.
Move the numbers to match your office. Everything is computed on your device from your own figures.
Editable assumptions, not measurements. Real review time depends on the quality of your documents, and every document passes through you before it is approved.

Stop 1 · You
You upload from your browser or through the API. The file does not pass through the Next.js servers: it goes straight to Convex storage.
The hosting region has not been chosen yet, and the processors' terms have not had a legal review. See the privacy page (a draft).
What happens to your data today, and what is not done yet.
Wasli reads Arabic and English documents with an AI model, including Eastern Arabic numerals and handwriting. We have not measured its accuracy yet: a test on Arabic and bilingual documents is planned, and we will not quote a number before it is measured. That is why every document goes through your review before approval.
An uncertain field is flagged and stays in the review list. Nothing is approved without your review, and only what you approve can be exported.
No. The checks are preliminary, and rates and formats need confirmation by an accountant in each country before you rely on them. Responsibility for tax filings stays with you and your accountant.
Files and extracted data are stored with Convex, a hosted database and file service, and documents are also sent to an AI model provider to be read. We have not chosen in-region hosting yet.
There is no direct connection to any accounting software yet. What works is an export to Excel (xlsx) or CSV. Connections to Qoyod, Wafeq, Zoho Books, Odoo and others are planned, and we confirm each platform's API before committing to a date.
There is a proposed free plan with a limited page allowance that renews every 30 days (figures are proposed and may change). Trial terms for the paid plans have not been defined.
